Discipleship Team Lead

What I do every day:

I am the Associate Chief Nurse for Geriatrics and Extended Care at the Washington, DC VA Medical Center.

My hobbies include walking, reading, yard work, and hanging out with the family. I like to ride on the back of my husband’s motorcycle and look at homes for sale. I enjoy nature, and if the sun is shining, I want to be out there!

Favorites:

Bible Verse:

Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Vacation Spot:

Home – there is nothing like a relaxing “staycation.” I do enjoy the beach and the mountains.

Foods and Beverages:

Unfortunately, pizza and ice cream! I do enjoy roasted vegetables. I don’t drink soda, so my favorite beverage would be water. A nice Merlot would be good too!

Book:

The Bible – particularly reading (and hearing) different translations and interpretations. My most recent favorite has become What on Earth Am I Here For? Such an eye-opener!

Music:

Jazz, Gospel, and Hits of the 80s!

Quote:

Mom used to say, “You can get more bees with honey than you can with vinegar.”

Dad used to say, “When you get hungry, you will eat it” (and unfortunately, that became so true!).

For me, “Have a simply marvelous day!”
